Union City Firefighters Extinguish 2-Alarm Building Fire

Firefighters in Hudson County battled an early morning fire that ignited inside a multi-family building in Union City Monday morning. 

The fast-moving blaze broke out at 301 18th Street shortly before 3:15 a.m. 

Firefighters arrived at the scene and found smoke and flames coming from the brick building, with at least one person reportedly trapped inside. 

Officials struck a second alarm for manpower while crews entered the building and found the sweet of the blaze. 

The fire was knocked down in under an hour, with the cause under investigation. 

One person was pulled from the building suffering injuries.
