Good morning, New Jersey!

We hope you are waking up on a good note on this early Friday morning across Newark and the North Jersey region.

It is currently rainy, and raw outside as we begin the day, and we are in for a wet start to the morning. If you are getting ready to head out, make sure the umbrellas are ready.

It is 4:30 a.m. at the start of our RLS Media news day, and we’re glad you are here to join us.

Temperatures are sitting at 38 degrees, just above freezing, but there is still a chill in the air and rain is falling across the region.

If you are heading out early, it’s going to be a damp start to the day. Temperatures will climb into the 40s later on, but with the clouds and moisture, it may not feel much warmer.

The good news is that better weather is on the horizon.

Once we get through today’s rain and gloomy conditions, the weekend is expected to improve, with temperatures climbing closer to the 60-degree mark.

For now, some dense fog is lingering during the early morning hours, and skies will remain cloudy and gloomy through much of the day.

If you are heading to the bus stop or making your way through downtown Newark this morning, it is definitely a day to dress warm and bring rain gear along with you.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog is expected between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Otherwise, skies will remain cloudy with a high near 44 degrees and a northeast wind around 7 miles per hour.

Tonight, there is a chance of drizzle mainly after 1 a.m., with patchy fog possible before 4 a.m. and again after 5 a.m.

Skies will stay cloudy with a low around 38 degrees. Winds will be light, with a northeast breeze around 6 miles per hour becoming calm after midnight.

Have a great Friday, New Jersey. Stay dry, stay warm, and we’ll keep you updated throughout the day.
