Two Years After Uggie's Death in Newark, Another Birthday Suspect Remains At-Large

Newark

On the 2nd anniversary of the murder of one of Newark's most popular residents, authorities do not appear to be any closer in bringing the suspect responsible to justice.

Residents around the city are waking up to Eric "Uggie" Bowen's birthday which was, unfortunately, the day he died at the age of 44 back in 2016.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, the incident happened during the overnight hours of November 7, where reports of shots fired sent police to the vicinity of 200 Bergen Street where officers arrived to find Bowens struck by gunfire.

EMS rushed to the scene and transported Uggie the very short distance to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later authorities confirmed.
