Two Victims Shot in Paterson

Paterson Police officials are looking into the motive for a shooting that injured two victims at a location in the city on Tuesday morning.

According to police, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of 214 16th Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found one person struck and seriously injured by gunfire at that location.

While EMS was preparing to transport the victim to the hospital, officials at St. Joseph's Medical Center alerted officers at the scene that a second victim entered the emergency department suffering bullet wounds.

Police say the hospital walk-in victim suffered bullet wounds in the knee and ankle.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation.

No arrests reported.
