Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that injured two victims during the overnight hours in Newark.
According to preliminary reports, at around 3:20 a.m. officials at the Beth Israel Hospital on Lyons Avenue contacted police when two victims entered the emergency department suffering apparent gunshot wounds.
Police arrived and found a vehicle that transported the victims with bullet holes in the driver side glass.
The victims told police that while in the area of 531 15th Avenue, suspects began to spray their vehicle with bullets.
Officers and detective arrived at the intersection of 15th Avenue and 13th Street and located a crime scene.
One of the victims was admitted for further treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds while doctors released the other person.
Police have not released the motive for the shooting.
