Two Suspects Wanted for Robbing Newark West Ward Gas Station

Police in Newark request the public’s help in identifying two male suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday, February 25.  Newark Police officials said at approximately 12:20 a.m., a gas station attendant at Conoco Gas station, located at 786 Sanford Avenue, was approached by two males while he was inside the station’s booth.

According to police, the first suspect demanded cash at gunpoint while the other assailant removed money and personal property from the attendant’s pockets.

Police say both suspects fled, heading eastbound on Mt. Vernon Place.  Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying these suspects as part of their investigation.

Police said suspect one is described as 5'8" tall and in his 40's. He was wearing a surgical mask, red baseball cap, black hoodie, blue jacket, jeans and black Jordan sneakers.

According to police, the other suspect is described as 6-ft. tall, also in his 40's, wearing a black ski mask, gray coat, pants, and worn out gray work boots.
