Two Suspects Wanted for Questioning for Newark Shooting

Newark authorities are actively seeking the public's assistance in locating two brothers, Mr. Quincy Moody, 26, and Mr. Jermaine Moody, 23, for their alleged connection with a shooting incident that took place on January 13, 2024.AdThe incident, which occurred around 10:29 p.m. in the 800 block of South 19th street, has triggered a city-wide search for the suspects.

Upon arrival at the scene, Newark Police discovered two 9mm shell casings, one lying in the street and the other on a nearby property.

Police said the search operation led to the discovery of a handgun prominently placed on the front seat of an unlicensed white 2005 BMW.

 

According to police, Quincy Moody is described as a Black male, standing 6'1" tall, weighing 253 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and a medium brown complexion.AdHis brother, Jermaine Moody, also identified as a Black male, is 5'7" tall, weighs 155 pounds, and shares similar physical features with brown eyes, black hair, and a medium brown complexion.

Director Fragé is calling on the community to aid in the search and provide any relevant information. The Newark Police Division has made available a 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line, accessible at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477), for anyone who might have details regarding the whereabouts of Quincy and Jermaine Moody.

Police urge the public to come forward as they continue to piece together the events of that night.
