North Plainfield

The New Jersey State Police and the North Plainfield Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying two suspects wanted for several thefts that have occurred during the past two months.

Police say on Saturday, August 4, two men entered the Verizon Wireless Store on Cedar Lane in Teaneck, Bergen County. The suspects were captured on video surveillance prior to stealing six cellular phones valued at $5,058.00.

According to police, both suspects match the description of the actors involved in several other cellular phone thefts that have since occurred in Parsippany, Bergenfield, Paramus, Teterboro, Edison, Jersey City, Clifton, Hazlet, and North Plainfield. The merchandise stolen has a total value worth more than $10,000.

In each incident, the suspects entered a cellular provider store, cut the security cables from the display models, and departed without paying. The suspects were observed leaving the scene in a white Ford Mustang convertible missing a front license plate.

One of the suspects is described as a medium-skinned black male, with a heavy build and a full beard.

The second suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male with a thin build. Both suspects are believed to be in their mid 20’s to late 30’s.
