Two Suspects Wanted for Newark Armed Robbery

Police in Newark requests the public’s help identifying a male suspect who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Monday, February 6. 

According to Newark Police officials, at approximately 2:20 p.m., the suspect and a male accomplice exited a vehicle in the 400 block of Lafayette Street, approached a male victim, and robbed him of his personal property at gunpoint.

Police said the suspect struck the victim before fleeing in the suspect vehicle, which was reported stolen on February 5, 2023, and has since been recovered. 

According to police, the suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build, 5'8" tall, wearing a black Adidas sweatsuit with a hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect, who is not shown, is described as a Black male, also with a thin build, wearing dark-colored clothing and white Jordan sneakers.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of either suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
