A fatal shooting reported in Jersey City overnight has authorities investigating.
The shooting happened at around 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Grand Avenue where police were called to the scene after receiving reports of shots fired according to initial reports.
Officers arrived to the scene and located one person struck by gunfire.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center in an unknown condition according to reports.
A short time later, a second victim entered the hospital after being transported by private vehicle suffering serious injuries after being shot at the above location reports said.
One of the victims was pronounced dead a short time later.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
