Authorities in Somerset County are currently investigating a severe early morning crash that left two individuals seriously injured on Sunday.The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. near 398 South Middlebush Road and drew attention from Franklin Township Police and emergency response teams.
Upon arriving at the scene, Franklin Township Police found a large debris field with a severely damaged vehicle.
Initial reports state that units discovered one victim trapped inside the wreckage while another had been ejected from the car during the collision.
Based on early reports, a possible third occupant was searched for, but it was later confirmed that only two individuals were involved in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under thorough investigation as authorities seek to understand the sequence of events leading up to the wreck.
Both victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Despite the seriousness of their injuries, it is expected that both will survive this harrowing ordeal.
Franklin Township Police are leading the investigation into this incident.
