Glassboro

Two South Jersey teenagers have been indicted on charges of inciting a riot after authorities said a social media-promoted party in Glassboro led to numerous crimes and emergency calls, including a shooting, armed robbery, and vehicle theft.

According to information released by prosecutors, Elijah Evans, 19, of Pine Hill, and Serenity Hall, 19, of Camden, were indicted on one count each of fourth-degree inciting a riot.

Authorities said the incident stemmed from a pop-up “Summer Block Party” advertised on social media for June 29, 2025, on Rowan Boulevard in Glassboro.

Investigators determined the online flyer promoted the gathering for 10 p.m. and included language encouraging disorderly and unlawful conduct toward law enforcement officers.

On the night of the event, officers with the Glassboro Police Departmentresponded to numerous calls for service in the area.

Reported incidents included an armed robbery, a shooting, a stolen motor vehicle, burglary, fights, noise complaints, and other disturbances.

Prosecutors said the social media account that originally shared the flyer, which allegedly reached approximately 1,000 people, belonged to Hall. Investigators also determined Evans used his account to further distribute the flyer.

Authorities said communications recovered between the defendants and a juvenile indicated the event had been organized by the group.

If convicted of fourth-degree inciting a riot, each defendant faces a maximum sentence of up to 18 months in New Jersey state prison.
