Two New Brunswick Men Charged With Murder

Middlesex County officials announced today that two men have been charged in connection with the murder of Lorenzo Hill Staten, 32, of Franklin.

According to county officials, on November 2, at approximately 8:12 p.m., authorities responded to the area of Seamen Street and Remsen Avenue following the report of a shooting. 

County officials said that upon their arrival, officers located Hill Staten, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation conducted by the New Brunswick Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined Jhon German-Suarez, 24, and Wendis Rodriguez-Quiles, 31, both of New Brunswick conspired to shoot and kill Hill Staten.

According to officials, German-Suarez and Rodriguez-Quiles were apprehended earlier today in the Bronx.

German-Suarez was charged with murder and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose.

Rodriguez-Quiles was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose.

According to county officials, German-Suarez and Rodriguez-Quiles remain in custody in New York pending extradition hearings. 

Upon their return to New Jersey, they will be lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.

At present, the murder does not appear to be a random act and the defendants and victim were known to one another.
