A violent early-morning head-on collision in New Brunswick sent two drivers to the hospital Sunday, including one who suffered serious injuries.
The crash happened at approximately 2:47 a.m. September 20 on Jersey Avenue near Triangle Road, where New Brunswick Police responded after receiving a 911 call reporting a collision.
According to a statement released by Middlesex County authorities, officers arrived and found a 2009 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 26-year-old New Brunswick man, and a 2017 Honda Accord, operated by a 25-year-old New Brunswick man, involved in a head-on collision.
The driver of the Corolla suffered serious injuries, while the Accord driver sustained minor injuries.
Both men were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment, where they remained at the time authorities released the information.
An initial investigation by New Brunswick Police Officer Edward Bobadilla and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective James Barnes determined that both vehicles were traveling on Jersey Avenue when they collided head-on.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
