Two Men Indicted for Murder in Fatal Shooting of Atlantic City Man

On December 7, an Atlantic County Grand Jury returned indictments against two men in connection to the May 19 fatal shooting of Jahmil Greenidge in Atlantic City, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

According to Prosecutor Shill, at 8:00 a.m., on May 19, Atlantic City Police officers responded to a 911 call for a report of a shooting. 

When officers arrived at the 300 block of North Tennessee Avenue in Atlantic City, they located Jahmil Greenidge, 28, with a gunshot wound. 

Greenidge was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to Prosecutor Shill, Denzel Garrison, 28, of Newark, is indicted on the following offenses:

  • Murder
  • Conspiracy
  • Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose
  • Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

Garrison was arrested by officers of the Newark Police Department on October 12, following a cooperative investigation by the ACPO Major Crimes Unit, Atlantic City Police Department and with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.

Additionally, Prosecutor Shill stated that Laquine Demby, 30, of Pleasantville, is indicted on the following offenses:

  • Murder
  • Conspiracy

Demby was arrested in Pleasantville by detectives of the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and officers of the Pleasantville Police Department on October 12, following a cooperative investigation by the ACPO Major Crimes Unit, Atlantic City Police Department and with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.

Demby and Garrison are currently lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
