Camden, N.J. – A grand jury has chosen to indict two men on numerous charges in the Dec. 2 homicide of 31-year-old Hayley Steinberg, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wyscoki.
Officials say Luis Colon-Molina, 36, and Wilfredo Boulones-Cruz, 50, both of Camden, were indicted for murder, armed robbery, felony murder, carjacking, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and resisting arrest.
Camden County Police responded to Farnham Park on the 1600 block of Baird Blvd. around 12 p.m. to find Steinberg dead from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma to the upper body.
According to officials, one hour before Steinberg was found, investigators say Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) police officers responded to a stopped car on the Ben Franklin Bridge.
Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Jose Rosado and Camden County Detective Sean Miller handled the investigation and learned that car was registered to Steinberg’s mother and Steinberg was known to use it.
Colon-Molina and Boulnes-Cruz were found walking on the roadway of the bridge and said their car ran out of gas.
After DPRA officers helped them push Steinberg’s vehicle off the bridge, police said they took off running.
Police found a large amount of blood was found in the vehicle and surveillance footage showed Steinberg pulling up to Colon-Molina and Boulnes-Cruz’s home in Camden the afternoon of Dec. 1 before driving away with both men inside.
Footage from later that afternoon showed the car entering the park and leaving five minutes later.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
