A deadly early-morning shooting in Millville that left two people dead and put two others in danger has resulted in charges against two men, according to information released by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.

Millville Police responded to the area of 815 North High Street at approximately 3:40 a.m. Sunday, August 16, after receiving reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they located two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities identified the victims as Ashley Brown, 32, of Millville, and Andy Steven Brazil, 32, of Vineland. Both victims died from their injuries.
Investigators allege that Daniel L. Gilmore Jr., 50, of Millville, opened fire into a vehicle occupied by four people.
The gunfire killed Brown and Brazil, while two other occupants — an adult woman and a juvenile girl — were not physically injured, according to prosecutors.
Gilmore was charged on August 18 with two counts of homicide, two counts of attempted murder, endangering the welfare of a minor and several weapons-related offenses.
He was taken into custody on August 19.
Prosecutors said they intend to seek Gilmore’s detention while the case moves through the courts.
A second man, James Harris, 52, of Absecon, is also facing charges stemming from the incident.
Authorities allege Harris fired shots toward a passing vehicle occupied by two unidentified people during the same incident.
Harris was charged with several weapons offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful pointing of a weapon. He was taken into custody on August 17.
The Millville Police Department and Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
