Two Killed in Hackensack Domestic Violence Stabbing; Arrest Made

Bergen County authorities are continuing to investigate the motive behind a stabbing that killed a man and a woman in Hackensack on Wednesday night. 

Police said at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers responded to a home on Fairmount Avenue after they received reports of some altercation in progress.

Upon arrival, police entered the home and found a man suffering multiple stab wounds on the second floor. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to police, when detectives secured and processed the crime scene, they found a woman outside bleeding heavily after suffering stab wounds.

Police said the woman was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, where doctors pronounced her dead a short time later. 

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the fatal double stabbing and has taken over the investigation. One person was taken into custody, but county officials have not released the perpetrator's identity or charges at this time. 

Police say the incident was isolated and the public was never in danger.
