Police in Elizabeth are investigating a Route 1&9 car crash that sent two people to the hospital overnight.
It happened at approximately just before 3:15 a.m. in the vicinity of 600 Spring Street sending emergency responders to the scene where they found a severely damaged car with trapped occupants inside.
According to authorities, firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate one of the victims from the vehicle.
Both victims were transported to an area hospital where the severity of their injuries were not released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Elizabeth Police.
