Mercer County officials are investigating a violent incident that left one person critically injured and another hurt following a stabbing in Trenton Friday night.

According to preliminary reports, police were called to the area of 132 Hanover Street around 10 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls about a large group of people fighting.
When officers arrived, they encountered a chaotic scene and requested additional backup units.
Amid the disorder, police discovered an unidentified individual suffering from a severe stab wound to the neck.
Officers immediately began administering CPR before the victim was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment.
The injuries were described as life-threatening.
A second victim, found in the 100 block of East Hanover Street, sustained a stab wound to the arm that was not considered life-threatening.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified and is assisting Trenton Police with the ongoing investigation.
The motive behind the altercation remains unclear, and no arrests have been reported as of early Saturday morning.
