Two Dead After House Explodes in Newfield

Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a house explosion that caused fatal injuries this morning in Gloucester County.

According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the house exploded in the 300 block of Oakwood Avenue in the Borough of Newfield, Gloucester County NJ at 6:15 a.m.

Officials say two fatalities have been confirmed at this time.

There is no foul play is suspected according to the prosecutor’s office.

Agencies that are investigating at the scene are the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, the Gloucester County Fire Marshal, the County Office of Emergency Management, the New Jesey State Police Arson/Bomb Unit, the state Division of Fire Safety, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Exploives and the Franklin Township Police Department, which patrols Newfield.

The incident remains under investigation.
