Two Arrested For Stealing Funds From Bridgewater Living Assistance Resident

Authorities in Somerset County announced the arrest of Sanders J. Mishkin, 65, Lambertville,  and Ronald Cusano, 65, Lambertville, in relation to the theft by deception of funds from an assisted living resident in Bridgewater.

According to Prosecutor McDonald, a criminal referral was made to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit regarding concerns involving the impropriety of funds which was discovered after the assisted living facility was contacted by one of the resident’s bank regarding suspicious bank account activity.  

Prosecutor McDonald stated that detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigation Unit investigated this matter.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Sanders Mishkin took funds exceeding $80,000 from a resident’s account without permission to use for his own personal gain, with at least $10,000 of these funds being tied to transactions conducted by Ronald Cusano.     

According to officials, on Wednesday, June 14, Sanders Mishkin was arrested at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office without incident and charged with 2nd degree, Theft by Deception, and 2nd degree, Attempted Theft by Deception.  

Defendant Mishkin was released pending a court date.

Ronald Cusano was also arrested at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office without incident and charged with 3rddegree, Theft by Deception.  

Defendant Cusano was released pending a court date.
