Two individuals known to frequent Morris County have been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation and multiple other offenses across Morristown and Hanover, according to information released by Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, New Jersey Transit Police Chief Christopher Trucillo, and Morristown Police Chief Darnell Richardson.

Authorities identified the suspects as Enrique “Flaco” Vega, 33, and Cassandra West, 31.
Both are homeless and now face multiple charges stemming from a series of incidents that began on Friday, June 13, 2025.

That morning, at approximately 9:14 a.m., Morristown police and paramedics responded to a call about an unresponsive individual found along Patriots Path, south of Cory Road near the railroad tracks and NJ Transit property.
Upon arrival, they located a deceased man, later identified as Stanley M. Robinson, 65, of Dover.
Investigators allege that Vega and West were present during a physical altercation between Robinson and another individual, referred to as R.E., in the early morning hours. After Robinson sustained severe injuries, the two suspects allegedly failed to seek help.
A medical examiner later determined Robinson died from blunt force trauma to the head and ruled the death a homicide.
Following the incident, Vega and West reportedly traveled to the Red Carpet Inn in Hanover.
On Saturday, June 14, authorities say Vega stole $2,500 from the motel’s cash register while an employee stepped away, with West acting as a lookout.
Later that same day, the pair allegedly discovered R.E. deceased inside an unoccupied home on Ridgedale Avenue in Hanover.
West is accused of tampering with the scene by discarding an empty heroin fold found near the body. Police located the deceased on the afternoon of Monday, June 16.
While no visible trauma was reported, the medical examiner’s office is awaiting final results.
Vega and West were taken into custody on Monday at the Broad Street rail station in Newark and transported to Morristown.
On June 17, both were formally charged in connection with the multiple incidents.
In the Morristown case, the pair faces charges of Endangering an Injured Victim (third-degree) and Defiant Trespass (petty disorderly persons offense).
For the burglary at the Red Carpet Inn, Vega is charged with Burglary, Theft, and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary (all third-degree crimes), while West is charged with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary and Theft (both third-degree offenses).
Regarding the Ridgedale Avenue discovery, both face Criminal Trespass charges, and West faces an additional charge of Tampering with Evidence (fourth-degree).
Vega is currently being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing, while West also remains in custody.
The investigation into the death of Stanley Robinson remains ongoing.
