Two Alleged Gang Members Among Nine Arrested in Newark

Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura announced today the arrest of nine people, including two alleged gang members. 

According to officials, hundreds of envelopes of heroin and vials of crack cocaine, as well as other drugs and prescription ID cards were seized during a string of busts.

Among the arrested were:

Rickey Harris, 54: While executing a warrant on North 11th Street, authorities seized 21 glassine envelopes of heroin, three prescription slips and a prescription ID card, which led to his arrest.

Nadir Roberts, 24, Antwan Parker, 25 (alleged Bloods gang members), and Abram Clifton, 28, were found to be in possession of crack cocaine, oxycodone, and Xanax, after they were loitering in the area of North 11th Street. Roberts and Parker also has outstanding warrants. 

Salimah Williams, 36: Authorities executing a warrant at her residence - located on 11th Street - found approximately 221 vials of crack cocaine, 50 additional grams of crack in loose form, 65 decks of heroin, prescription ID cards and various drug processing paraphernalia. 

While outside the 11th Street apartment, authorities arrested Maurice McPhatter, 42, of East Orange, for violating terms of his probation. Also arrested at that location was 49-year-old Deron Hill on a sheriff's warrant for robbery.

Alberto Jimenez, 46, and Nelson Rivera, 58: After authorities executed a warrant at a Broadway apartment, officers found 226 glassine envelopes of heroin leading to the arrests. 

All nine were expected to be arraigned Monday.
