Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Edison House; Injuries Reported

There were injuries reported in an early morning fire that destroyed a house in Edison.

The raging two-alarm fire ripped through a home located in the single digit block of Fairfax Road before 1 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where upon their arrival they observed flames engulfing much of the structure according to reports.

Firefighters were able to knock down much of the flames swiftly but did locate one person suffering injuries reports said.

EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where their injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The official cause of the fire is under investigation.
