Truck Fire Causes Delays on Turnpike in East Brunswick

A truck that crashed into a tanker then exploded on the northbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 88.3 in East Brunswick sending one person to the hospital with non-life threatening  burns this evening. 

The crash occurred sometime around 8 p.m. on the outer roadway when two trucks collided causing one of the trucks to explode. 

Police shut down all lanes on the highway so that firefighters could extinguish the blaze. 

All lanes has since been reopened.
