Suspects Rob Newark West Ward Gas Station at Gunpoint

Police seek the public’s help in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with an armed business robbery that occurred this morning.

According to authorities, shortly after 1:45 a.m., police responded to Conoco Gas Station, located at 786 Sanford Avenue, for a report of a robbery.

Officials say three black males entered the station on foot and stole cash from the attendant at gunpoint. The first suspect, who pointed a black handgun at the attendant, is described as 6-ft. tall with a thin build and wearing dark colored clothing and a black ski mask.

Police say the second suspect was wearing dark colored clothing, black shoes and a red hat. The third suspect was wearing a dark colored shirt, faded blue jeans, white shoes and a red hat.

According to police, all three suspects fled on foot, heading east on Mt. Vernon Place.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets.
