Police in Elizabeth are investigating an assault incident that happened at a hospital in the city Saturday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police received reports of an emotionally distraught man inside the Trinitas Hospital Emergency Room who threatened several workers with a knife around 9:50 p.m.
Several employees reportedly took cover from the threatening male inside a bathroom at the hospital while they notified the police.
The unidentified individual was taken into custody without incident while several police officers cleared the scene a short time after arriving at the hospital.
There were no physical injuries immediately rpeorted.
