Trespasser Struck by NJ Transit Train in Newark

NJ Transit officials have launched an investigation into an incident where a trespasser was struck by a train on Sunday night in Newark.

According to preliminary reports submitted by NJ Transit officials, at approximately 11:12 p.m., NJ Transit Train 7872 which left Trenton at around 10:03 p.m. struck a male trespasser that walked onto track number one at Penn Station in Newark.

Officials said EMS transported the victim to University Hospital, where they could not immediately confirm the extent of his injuries as of 4:30 a.m.

None of the passengers and crew onboard the train suffered injuries and the incident remains under investigation officials said.
