Trenton Man Killed in Standoff Identified

The Trenton man who shot and wounded another man during a shootout with police Wednesday has been identified.

According to police, negotiations with suspect, Tyleeb Reese, 35, of Trenton, finally came to an end after than 30 hour standoff.

The standoff started

when the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve a warrant Wednesday around 6:20 a.m. When officers allegedly entered the center Street home, Reese reportedly started shooting. Officers immediately retreated while taking fire.

Although very little additional details have been released, authorities have identified Robert Powell Jr., 56, of Trenton, as the bystander that was shot and killed when the shootout occurred. Powell was one of four injured people injured. The other three injuries were said to be police officers who were ultimately transported to the hospital for treatment.

Reese, who according to police has multiple weapons inside the home, eventually surrendered to police and was immediately taken into custody.
