A pedestrian struck by a train in Secaucus overnight has authorities investigating.
The incident happened in the area of County Road and County Avenue where emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of an injured person near the tracks shortly before 1:30 a.m.
Rescue crews arrived to find the victim suffering serious leg injuries at that location.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where their injuries were not immediately reportedly as life threatening.
It is not clear why the person was on the tracks.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
