Bergen County authorities closed all eastbound lanes on Route 3 in East Rutherford while work crews repaired a water main break Wednesday morning.
The main broke around 2:30 a.m. on Route 3 East near the American Dream Mall and Met Life Stadium.
Traffic officials at NJ-511 said the following:
"As of 3:44 a.m., there's a water main break on NJ-3 eastbound East of Berrys Creek Bridge in East Rutherford. All lanes are closed".
All traffic is being diverted to service roads in the area.
Work crews managed to shut the water off just before 4 a.m., but traffic officials advise motorists to prepare for heavy delays for the morning commute.
