State Highway and Transportation officials have announced speed restrictions a vast stretch of the Garden State Parkway due to winter weather that will affect the state today -Wednesday-.
According to a statement released by officials, as of 4:37 am, there are speed restrictions due to weather-related issues on the Garden State Parkway in both directions from Exit 102 - Asbury Avenue in Tinton Falls to the New York State Line in Montvale
Officials say although drivers are encouraged to use mass transit, if you must travel on the highway the speed limit is 45 miles per hour due to roadway conditions, plowing and salting operations.
