Totowa Police Search for Driver who Struck, Killed Pedestrain

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Robert Coyle announce that at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Monday, police responded to the area of 392 Union Avenue in the Borough of Totowa in response to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Police said upon their arrival at the scene, the officers discovered a 69-year-old female victim, who they later identified as Ms. Grace Strazza from Paterson, struck by a vehicle as she was crossing Union Avenue.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene before the police arrived police said.

EMS rushed Ms. Strazza to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson where doctors pronounced her dead at approximately 6:03 p.m.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
