Toms River Police Apprehended Ten in Americana Motel Raid

Nearly a dozen people were arrested following an execution of two searches at a local motel.

According to police, on November 22nd, the Toms River Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team, along with the Townships Quality of Life Task Force, executed two search warrants at the Americana Motel located at 925 Route 166.

The first search warrant was for the motel manager’s office in connection with an ongoing narcotics investigation. The operation led to the arrest of ten individuals for warrants and offenses ranging from possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances to Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances.

A fire inspection was also conducted by the Bureau of Fire Prevention, and the motel was found to be in violation of several fire codes which will be addressed with ownership officials.

The Quality of Life Task Force was established to combat problems with a multifaceted approach utilizing multiple township agencies. The task force consists primarily of law enforcement, fire, and code/zoning enforcement bureaus.

The primary objective of the task force is to ensure Toms River is a safe community and to improve the quality of life for all of its residents and visitors.
