Toms River Home Invader Knocks 102-Year-Old to the Ground

A 102-year-old woman and her 72-year-old daughter were victims of a home invasion robbery Monday night.

Police responded to a residential home located on Dock Street around 8:40 Monday night for a robbery.

Upon arrival, it was determined that two woman were robbed within their own home by a lone assailant.

The 72-year-female and her 102-year-old mother were at home when the doorbell rang. The younger woman answered the door and was immediately pushed inside of the home by a male in his 30’s.

He grabbed control of her arms and dragged her towards the interior ofthe home and towards the 102-year-old woman.

She tried to activate her lifeline pendant that was around her neck, however the suspect pushed the 102 year old to the floor and yanked it away before she could push the button.

The suspect repeatedly demanded cash and the victims complied with his orders. Once he received the money he fled the house and ran south on Dock Street.

He was wearing a black knit hat, jeans, and a waist length coat. He had a thin build and appeared to be approximately 5’8” tall.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office CSI Unit responded and is assisting with the investigation.
