A family of four escaped potential severe injuries after a fire broke out inside their home late Wednesday night.

According to Toms River Police, at approximately 10:52 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 2328 Donna Dee Court to investigate reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy flames and thick smoke coming from the roof of a large single-family home.

Firefighters stretched several lines and began to knock flames down that began spreading to portions of the home.
