Toddler Found Wandering on Newark North Ward Street

Police officials in Newark are reminding parents of young children to remember to secure and lock doors to prevent kids from exiting their homes then wander city streets.

According to reports, officers responded to Summer Avenue after receiving reports of an unattended child walking down the street on Sunday.

Police arrived at the scene and found a 3-year-old Hispanic female wearing a pamper and a jacket at around 11:40 a.m.

The child was found by a male passerby who contacted police immediately after he noticed the girl according to reports.

The mother of the child was located about 25 minutes later in the vicinity of Manchester Place where it was determined that the child somehow left their home in the 90's block according to reports.

There were no injuries to the girl.
