Todd Bowles, Jets Head Coach, to Speak at Elizabeth's High Schools Commencement

Elizabeth New Jersey

Todd Bowles, NY Jets Head Coach, returns to his hometown to address seniors at Elizabeth's High Schools Commencement Ceremony tomorrow afternoon.

Graduating seniors of John E. Dwyer Technology Academy, Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Academy, Admiral William F. Halsey, Jr. Leadership Academy and Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy will join commencement ceremonies tomorrow (June 23) at Williams Field on Clarkson Avenue in Elizabeth.

For Bowles, appearing at Williams Field will be a much anticipated homecoming. Bowles, 51, was raised in Elizabeth. He graduated Elizabeth High School in 1981 and played at Temple where he went undrafted in 1986.

On January 14, Bowles’ was hired to take the Jets head coaching job, returning to the Jets where home games will be just miles away from the first place he called home. But if that were not close enough, tomorrow Bowles’ will return to the field where his football dreams first took root.

This is the sixth commencement ceremony held at Williams Field for Elizabeth Public Schools graduates since the former Elizabeth High School, once one of the largest high schools in the United States, was formed into six independently operated high schools.
