Tires Slashed on Multiple Jersey City Polices Cars

Jersey City

The Jersey City Police Department has reported that a number of their vehicles have had their tires slashed overnight on June 18.

Police report that nine marked JCPD vehicles had one or more of their tires slashed while parked outside of the North District station.

"I can’t stress enough how counterproductive these actions are, and unfortunately these types of actions serve to overshadow the entire conversation around police reform," Mayor Steven Fulop said. "It’s unacceptable to vandalize anyone’s property let alone public property and we will be aggressive in prosecution as we review surveillance videos.”

All vehicles that were damaged have had their tires changed and are back in service.

The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
