Three Women Wanted for Violent Newark South Ward Robbery

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying three women wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

 

According to authorities, the incident began around 5 p.m. when a female victim stepped off an NJ Transit bus at Randolph Place and Clinton Place. 

 

Investigators say three women followed her to Vernon Avenue near Leo Place, where they pulled her by the hair, knocked her to the ground, and punched and kicked her before stealing her purse and cell phone. 

 

The purse contained approximately $250 in cash.

 

The suspects then fled westbound on Clinton Place, with the victim attempting to follow them. 

 

Police report the group assaulted her a second time in front of University High School.

 

Detectives describe the suspects as follows:

Suspect #1: White female, red hair, black short-sleeve shirt, black sweatpants.

Suspect #2: Black female, tall, long braids, wearing a white and green shirt and jean shorts.

Suspect #3: White or Hispanic female, brown shirt, light blue pants, green sneakers.
