Newark Police are asking for the public’s help identifying three men wanted in connection with the robbery of a parking lot attendant earlier this month.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the incident occurred at approximately 4:47 a.m. on September 19, 2026, at a J&L Parking lot on Bruen Street near Edison Place.
Police said the three suspects entered the lot in a white Hyundai Sonata bearing New Jersey registration D57WZM and parked near the attendant’s booth.
One suspect approached the attendant and asked to use a phone charger.
When the attendant said he did not have one, the suspect allegedly reached into his pocket, removed parking lot keys and threw them to the ground.
Authorities said a second suspect picked up the keys while the first and third men grabbed the attendant by his hoodie and pulled him from the booth.
Police said the second suspect then ransacked the booth and took a small amount of money.
The attendant managed to escape, and all three suspects fled southbound on Bruen Street in the Hyundai, according to officials.
Police described the suspects as wearing mostly dark clothing. One wore a black jacket and dark gray sweatpants, another wore a black hoodie, blue jeans and a white mask, and the third wore a black jacket and light blue jeans.
