Three More Students Arrested in Ramapo College Sexual Assault Case

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced additional arrests in the continuing investigation into the sexual assault of a female student at Ramapo College. 

Arrested today were Justin Sommers, 18, of Staten Island, New York; Christopher Rainone, 18, of Staten Island, New York; and Jordyn Massood, 18, of Wayne. 

As previously reported to the press, Lopez and Gardner were arrested on November 17, each charged with 1st degree aggravated sexual assault and other offenses relating to the rape of a female student during the early morning hours of November 15.  Justin Sommers and Christopher Rainone are each charged with endangering an injured victim and invasion of privacy, third degree crimes.  Massood is charged with endangering an injured victim. The three were arrested without incident on the Ramapo College campus. The charge of endangering an inured victim alleges that each aided or encouraged Lopez and Gardner during the sexual assault. The charge of invasion of privacy alleges that Sommers and Rainone took pictures of the victim without her consent. All three were charged on a complaint summons and released on their own recognizance pending first appearance in Mahwah Municipal Court. 

Christian Lopez, who remains lodged in the Bergen County Jail, has been additionally charged with Criminal Restraint, Endangering an Injured Victim and Invasion of Privacy, each a crime of the Third Degree. These are additional charges relating to the sexual assault victim. Lopez is also now charged with fourth degree criminal sexual contact for inappropriately touching another female student of the college. 

Additional bail has not yet been set for Lopez. Nakeem Gardner, who also remains in the Bergen County Jail, is now additionally charged with endangering an injured victim.  Additional bail for Gardner has not yet been set.
