Three Men Convicted of Murder After Shooting at Newark Man 13 Times

A jury has convicted three men in connection with the 2021 fatal shooting of a Newark man, according to a statement released by Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II.

As
 

Tyshon Armour, 23, of Newark; Reynold Henderson, 23, of Irvington; and Issad Jackson, 26, also of Irvington, were found guilty of first-degree murder and multiple related offenses in the death of 22-year-old Dedric Bracey. 

 

The trial was held before Superior Court Judge Ronald D. Wigler and prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutors Michele Miller and Brianne Cunningham.
 

According to prosecutors, the trio was in a stolen BMW X-5 from Westfield when they spotted Bracey on St. Paul Avenue in Newark. 

 

After following him, Armour and Jackson exited the vehicle and fired 13 rounds, fatally striking the victim. 

 

The group then fled to Irvington, where the New Jersey State Police Motor Vehicle Crimes North Unit tracked the car. All three suspects were arrested after a brief foot chase.
 

In addition to the murder charge, the men were convicted of weapons offenses and receiving stolen property. They face life sentences at their upcoming sentencing on September 9, 2025.

 

Assistant Prosecutor Miller thanked the jury for their service, noting that the verdict brought a sense of justice to Bracey’s grieving family.

Prosecutor Cunningham added, “We hope this verdict brings some measure of comfort to the victim’s loved ones.”

 

The case was built with the support of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, Westfield and Newark police departments, and the New Jersey State Police.
