The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office are investigating a fire that killed as many as three people in the township overnight.
Heavy fire broke out inside an apartment at 43 Farm Road shortly before 10 p.m. sending crews rushing to the scene where upon arrival, firefighters observed thick smoke and heavy flames ripping through the upper level of the structure with occupants trapped, according to reports.
Crews made entry into the apartment and found a fully involved fire engulfing one of the bedrooms and extending throughout the apartment reports said.
It took firefighters about an hour to knock down the flames where they then performed a search and found at least three victims reportedly suffering fatal injuries.
The fire reportedly extended to four apartment units in the complex causing significant damage.
The cause of the fire and identity of the victims have not been released as of 4:30 a.m.
