Firefighters in Trenton faced brutal winter conditions late Sunday night as they battled a three-alarm fire that tore through multiple homes on Princeton Avenue.

The blaze erupted in the 1400 block of Princeton Avenue near North Olden Avenue shortly after 11 p.m., drawing a large emergency response.
Crews worked in frigid temperatures hovering around 26 degrees, with snow and icy conditions complicating efforts to stretch hose lines, maintain water flow, and safely maneuver around the scene.
Officials said the fire spread to at least three homes, causing extensive damage and forcing several residents from their homes.
Despite the intensity of the blaze and the dangerous weather conditions, there were no immediate reports of injuries.
Firefighters spent hours working to contain the fire as freezing air and snow-covered ground made operations especially challenging.
The bitter cold increased the risk of ice buildup on equipment and roadways, further slowing firefighting efforts and making the scene hazardous for crews and residents alike.
The American Red Cross is assisting displaced residents with emergency housing and other essential resources.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by local authorities.
