Thousands Still Without Power in NJ Due to Friday's Storm

New Jersey

As of 4:30 p.m., about 12,000 customers are without power, primarily in Essex, Mercer, Somerset and Union counties.

Officials say they have restored more than 140,000 since the storm began yesterday morning.

Crews continue to deal with downed trees and wires, as well as damaged utility poles. They also continue to focus on restoring power to critical facilities and outages affecting the largest numbers of customers first according to officials.
