A vehicle left unattended and running in a residential neighborhood in Summit had a thief drive away in the car last night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to an address on Iris Road to take a report of a stolen vehicle at around 9 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they were met by the owner of the vehicle who reported that they briefly stepped inside the house while the car warming but when they came back outside, the car was gone.
The vehicle is reported as a white 2014 Range Rover with a reported NJ license plate number "T12-CTB".
Police are actively investigating.
