Authorities in Newark seek the public’s help identifying the suspect who took a victim’s wallet on May 1.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. stated that at approximately 5:10 p.m., the victim was walking in the 200 block of Lafayette Street when the suspect took his wallet from his pocket and fled.

The suspect, a Black male with dreadlocks, wore a black sweater, black pants, and a black ski mask, according to Newark officials.
The Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
