Land faces multiple charges, including the production of explicit materials involving minors, aggravated explicit extortion, explicit extortion, and impersonation.

According to Prosecutor Musella, the investigation began in April 2025 when the Lyndhurst Police Department, led by Chief Richard L. Jarvis, notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit, directed by Chief Matthew Finck, about suspected online Targeted Manipulation.

Detectives launched a probe and soon discovered disturbing evidence.

Investigators determined that an unidentified online stranger had contacted both an adult and a juvenile through the social media platform Snapchat.

Over several months, the suspect allegedly pressured the victims to record and send explicit photos and videos of themselves.

Cyber detectives traced the activity back to a residence in Dallas, Texas.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office traveled to Texas, where, with the assistance of the Dallas Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service, they executed a search warrant at the identified residence.

Prosecutor Musella’s office confirmed that Land was identified as the individual behind the social media accounts used to exploit the victims.

Further investigation revealed that Land allegedly used the likeness of another person to set up multiple online profiles, which were then deployed to carry out the extortion scheme.
